Sounds Too Good?
Our top 3 FAQs answered

Is this just cashback?

No. Cashback only pays you after you buy from one brand’s link. Data Moat is different: you’re rewarded upfront for saying what you plan to buy. The brands you shortlist all pay into a shared pot for the right to reach you. Everyone gets a small payout, and people who actually buy from their chosen brand get a much larger one. Most importantly, you choose which brands can contact you, and for how long, not a cashback site or affiliate network.

Why would a brand take the risk if I might not buy?

Because this is how advertising already works. Brands pay to reach people who might buy. The difference is that with Data Moat the signal is stronger and the cost is lower. Declaring your purchase shows you’re genuinely in-market, not just clicking around. Brands pay a small fee to be able to market to you, and we prove who actually follows through with the evidence you provide. Even if not everyone buys, the cost to the brand can be far better than other platforms, and the proof builds confidence for the next group.

How do you know I’m not just lying for the higher payout?

The system is built in a way that honesty always pays more. Everyone gets a base reward for declaring, even if plans change. But the larger pay-outs only go to people who can prove they bought from their shortlist with evidence. To protect legitimate users, There are minimum requirements before you can cash out, including validating at least one purchase with evidence . So yes, you could lie, but you’d only ever get the lowest reward and never be able to withdraw it. Being truthful is the only way to unlock the higher pay-outs, and that’s what keeps it fair for both users and brands.

The process in action

100 people declare intent to buy an air fryer this month

After Data Moat’s share, assume there is £100 left in the pool to be shared.

That's £1 a lead, much lower than industry benchmarks.

90 people don’t buy

They still share £45 from the pool.

That's 50p per user just for telling us.

10 people do buy from their shortlist

They share the remaining £55.

That’s £5.50 each, more than 10x the base payout.

The Takeaway

Everyone earns something, but those who follow through earn much more.

Because people can see the larger pay-outs that follow-through brings, they’re going to be more accurate and buy the product on their next declared purchase to also receive that money.

That proof makes the next group even more valuable, so brands pay more next time.

This is a modest projection. Larger purchases and more in demand items can return considerably more if purchases are verified.
